Tray of Shadows

ถาดแห่งเงา

Common Signal ↗ / 2026

Tray of Shadows is a fictional study beginning with the observation of metal in everyday life. Rather than offering a fixed answer, it makes room to look at form at your own pace.

A folded sheet creates an inside and an outside at once. Reflected light sharpens the edge while the cast shadow remains soft. Compare the straight angle with the curve and consider where your eye comes to rest.

On a second look, a familiar thing can become a new question. Read this study alongside other collection objects, comparing negative space, weight and the rhythm of surfaces.

LOOKING NOTES / A SECOND LOOK

Three questions for a closer look.

  1. Where does your eye land first? Compare an edge with the space around the form.
  2. If Metal became a different material, how might the sense of weight and touch change?
  3. What does this form recall from everyday life? Save it and compare it with another object on your trail.
